Newly Designed Matthews Grip Equipment RoadFlags II Kit 4×4 Nets/Flags

Matthews Studio Equipment has re-designed their RoadFlags 4×4 Flag / Scrim Kit with a easier to use frame and smaller travel case. The new 4×4 frame breaks down into 4 components, taking up less space in the kit. In addition, it is a snap to assemble. Reducing the size of the frame allowed for the reduction of the travel case, saving space in vehicles. Normally a rigid 4×4 Floppy or 4×4 Frame would not fit in most station wagons, mini-vans or SUVs. Now the RoadFlags II Kit makes it easy to get the advantage of using large flags to block light or large frames to diffuse light. Need a 4×4 reflector or bounce card, just stretch on the fabric of your desire and you are ready to go! How to Install Add a Tap or Add a Plug Male Electrical Connectors to Zip Cord

Need to run lightweight extension cords on a film, video or photo set? Zip cord or lamp cord is 18/2 wire used for low wattage applications like a practical lamp or chinese lantern. You can quickly make these cords with "add a tap" and "add a plug" quick on electrical connectors.

How to Assemble Add a Plug

Squeeze brass blades and pull out from shell
Spread brass blades
Insert wire thru shell an then into blade assembly until wire is seated. (white area)
Squeeze brass blades together. Brass prongs will pierce insulation and "tap" in to copper wire.
Push blade assembly and wire into shell.

Why are Video Camera Tripods So Expensive?

Why are Video Camera Tripods So Expensive? The answer, they don't have to be. You finally have the money to make your first pro camera purchase, maybe a Canon 5D or C300. Then you have to pick a lens, which is a small fortune, never mind accessories like video monitors or a matte box. But you really need to get a decent tripod for really smooth camera moves. Many pros go right for the high end Sachtler or Cartoni tripods, but they range from $5,000 – $10,000. Not many people have the extra cash after buying the camera package. Many of our customers go for the Manfrotto line of tripods. But want even a better deal. Check out the Benro line of professional video camera tripods. They offer more bang for the buck! Can’t Wait for NAB this Year. Many New LED Lights About to Be Released.

I can't wait for NAB this year. There's a lot of new LED lights coming out that will be significant game changers. The one I am most interested in is LiteMat by LiteGear. I think it will have the same impact that Kino Flo had on film and video lighting way back when. Lightweight, compact form factor and energy efficient are just a few of the benefits. What I like most is many of the components are interchangeable, so you can continually build a lighting system and have redundancy to boot. A great solution from the pro on the go, to a full blown rental house. In addition, no more large fluorescent tubes to carry or worry about breaking and cleaning up.
